Takanari's Story
Takanari visited his aunt in Texas when he was in college and was intrigued by how everything was jumbo-sized: "the highways, the national flags, and the hamburgers" he says in an essay he wrote for the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Biomedical Science. When he returned to the U.S. for postdoctoral training at Stanford University years later, he says "why I stayed in the U.S. after my postdoctoral work had directly to do with the U.S. jumbo sizes: I witnessed the scientific independence for young investigators here to be grander than that of my native Japan."
Dr. Inoue came to Patel Law Group while he was on a J-1 visa and working at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Our team helped him file an EB-1 petition – one of the toughest business immigration cases for which to obtain an approval. We obtained this visa for him without difficulty and then filed for green cards for him, his wife, and their two children. Takanari then encountered problems with the Consulate because his wife is of Chinese origin, but our firm was able to assist him with these issues, as well.
